# Table turnover

> Table turnover is how many separate guest parties a table serves during one service period; higher turnover means more revenue from the same capacity.

Turnover = total seated parties / number of tables. It is improved by tuning reservation intervals, dwell-time estimates, and kitchen pace.

A reservation system manages slot length and table assignment to avoid double-booking without hurting turnover.
